First Fruit Ministries, Wilmington's largest and oldest nonprofit dedicated to helping human trafficking victims, has been working tirelessly to provide housing and support to survivors. Through our initiative called 5.11 House, we've already supported over 40 victims since 2021, many of whom were involved with the Cape Fear Escorts Human Trafficking Investigation. 5.11 House ensures victims' safety and stability by providing secure housing, with 8 on-campus bedrooms available for single women and 2 scattered-site locations for families, men, or individuals battling addiction. Their holistic support extends beyond housing, encompassing case management, recovery services, primary medical care, behavioral health services, housing navigation, and even assistance with the first month's rent upon program completion.
